The deadline for Tahoma Audubon’s annual Youth Bird Drawing Contest has been extended to April 30.
This spring, help Pierce County youth in grades 1-8 explore their artistic side and get to know the birds of Mt. Rainier by encouraging them to participate in this contest. The three birds youth may draw this year are the Clark’s Nutcracker, Mountain Chickadee and White-tailed Ptarmigan.
Complete contest details, rules and the entry form are available on Tahoma Audubon’s website at www.tahomaaudubon.org/contest.
New this year: Drop-In Draw Day
As part of this year’s contest, there will be a special drop-in draw day on April 16 from 10 am to 1 pm at Feast Arts Center. Art supplies will be provided and youth can view real bird specimens up close. (Note the bird specimens are on loan from Slater Museum and are not live birds.) Cost for the Drop-In Draw Day is $10 per youth. Please register in advance online to attend the draw day.
Thank you,
Andrea
